Meditation is a state of being and awareness, but a lot happens in that state if you can let yourself be neutral enough to just be and notice. It can reduce stress big time, give you incredible energy, and allow creative ideas and inner answers to surface. It's also the ideal state to look at things on a super-conscious level, where you can ask specific questions of yourself as a spirit and of the divine and find some great answers!

It can take time to find your ikigai, especially if your energy is depleted on a daily basis by things that are not in alignment with your purpose. So don't give up--your answers are all within you. And often life purpose is really just being here, learning what we are learning and growing from the experience. By asking yourself what you are learning from your relationships, your job, your hobbies, and more, you can begin to get a clearer sense of your greater purpose.

Hello Jennifer

I was searching for the meaning of "ikigai" and accidentally run into your website. The exercise was an interesting experience and yet left me sad because somehow I still did not find what is the ikigai in my life...

Greetings
Cassia

I Also Agree With you. Meditation is not contemplation. Meditation is not concentration. Meditation is a state of being. It is a state of awareness. Meditation is not about doing something; rather it is about doing nothing.

Thanks for the great hello, Jeff. You remind me that even though we change physically as we get older, there is still that core essence of who we are, there from the time we came into the world, that we can always rely on, no matter what situations we are in.

Thank you Jennifer! the excercise was calming as well as invigorating.
I think I'll come back to it whenever I feel down or there is a lack of energy!
